A song that demonstrates verb noun collocations relating to using, wearing and carrying all kinds of things!

Why not try the gapfill activity before listening? (See lyrics below..)

If your wearing it, you’re not using it.
If your using it, you’re not wearing it.
If you’re carrying it, you’re not using it and you’re not wearing it.

The shoes that I wear are a beautiful pair.
I’m careful not to tread on any snails.
The heels are made of steel so if I can’t find a hammer,
I can use them for banging in nails.

If your wearing it, you’re not using it.
If your using it, you’re not wearing it.
If you’re carrying it, you’re not using it and you’re not wearing it.

I carry an umbrella to protect me from the weather.
I use it whenever it rains.
The shirt that I wear has a very long tear;
I’m gonna use it for wiping off stains.

If your wearing it, you’re not using it.
If your using it, you’re not wearing it.
If you’re carrying it, you’re not using it and you’re not wearing it.

I carry a handkerchief and use it for flu relief,
But let me tell you something I’ve learned.
If you wear one on your head with the sun overhead,
It’ll stop you from getting burned.

If your wearing it, you’re not using it.
If your using it, you’re not wearing it.
If you’re carrying it, you’re not using it and you’re not wearing it.

Wear it..
Use it..
If you’re wearing it, you’re really not using it.
If you’re using it, you’re really not wearing it.
